Q: What is the recommended age for this product?

A: The recommended age for all of Orbeez® products is for children ages 5+.

Q: What should I do if my child swallows Orbeez®?

A: All Orbeez® are non-toxic and tests have shown that if a child swallows Orbeez® they should pass through the digestive system with no problems. Orbeez do not break down in the digestive tract, do not stick together, and are not absorbed into the body. They are eliminated through the natural digestive process. If a substantial number of Orbeez are swallowed, we advise you to seek immediate medical attention for the advice of a medical professional.

Q: What should I do if Orbeez® has become logged in my child’s ear or nose?

A: If Orbeez® has becomes logged in your child’s ear or nose, the Orbeez should be removed under otolaryngology (ENT) supervision only.

Ear: If there is NO hole or perforated eardrum, the guidelines for removal are as follows:

1. First, alcohol will reduce Orbeez size by approximately 25%. Place four drops of alcohol on a cotton ball and place the cotton ball in the ear canal for approximately 15 minutes.

2. Then, the Orbeez can be removed by the physician (ENT).

3. Saline Solution is NOT recommended

4. An ear vacuum is NOT recommended

5. Orbeez are not radiopaque, and as such, will not show in an X-Ray.

Nose: If the Orbeez® has become logged in the child’s nose, usual otolaryngologic (ENT) techniques of foreign object removal can be used. Please note that Orbeez are not radiopaque, and as such, will not show in an X-Ray.

Q: My Orbeez® became moldy - what should I do?

A: If you can detect an odor or see mold growing on your Orbeez®, you should throw away the affected product and replace them with new Orbeez. If you find that your Orbeez are growing mold quickly, it is probably related to the water you are using. We recommend using purified water to grow your Orbeez.

Q: How long can I use Orbeez® before I should throw them out?

A: You can play with your Orbeez™ several times before needing to replace them. We recommend washing your hands before playing with Orbeez, and washing your feet before using the Soothing Spa. This will keep your Orbeez fresher for longer. Like any water-based product, they will need to be replaced with fresh Orbeez™ if you smell or detect any mold growth. Orbeez™ in the Light-up products will last several months with no problems if they are not exposed to air.

Q: How do I make my Orbeez® last longer?

A: You can keep your Orbeez™ fresh for a longer period of time by remembering to always wash your hands and feet before placing them in the Orbeez™. Orbeez™ also stay fresh longer by adding a pinch of salt when growing them. When growing or reheating your Orbeez, you should also make sure to drain any excess water to prevent mold.

When you've finished playing with your Orbeez for the day, we recommend storing them in a resealable bag or container.
You can also let them dry out, and then re-grow them by adding more water.

Q: How do you dispose of Orbeez®?

A: Do NOT throw Orbeez® down a drain. You should dispose of Orbeez by throwing them in the trash, or work them into garden soil. Orbeez absorb water and release moisture when it is hot, so they can be used to reduce water use in plants.

Q: Do Orbeez® stain? Are they messy? Are they difficult to clean of carpet and upholstery?

A: No, Orbeez® do NOT stain! They are not messy and are easy to pick up. Unlike many other activity toys and compounds, Orbeez do not stick to clothing or carpeting. Orbeez are slippery and should be removed from the floor to prevent slipping. If you spill Orbeez on your carpet or floor, let them dry out and then you can vacuum them up.

Q: My Orbeez® are not fully round. What should I do?

A: If your Orbeez® are not fully round this means you have not grown them for long enough, or that you have not used enough water. To grow your Orbeez, empty one packet into a bowl and add 1.5 cups of clean, drinking water. Leave your Orbeez to soak for at least 3 hours or overnight.

Q: The Orbeez® are cold. What should I do?

A: You should be growing your Orbeez® in warm or hot water. You can add hot water to reheat the Orbeez. Make sure to drain any excess water after you have reheated the Orbeez to prevent mold.

Q: Can Orbeez® be grown and reused once they dry out?

A: Yes, they can be rehydrated and reused by adding a small amount of water. Place your Orbeez in a bowl and add water to regrow them.

Q: Do Orbeez® dry out and go back to their original size? How long does it take for them to dry out?

A: If Orbeez® are left in the sun or in an open container they will dry out. Orbeez can dry out within a day if left in the direct sunlight. In a closed container out of the sun, Orbeez can last for weeks or even months. If your Orbeez have dried out, simply place them in a bowl with water to regrow them.

Q: How big do Orbeez® grow? How can I make my Orbeez grow larger?

A: The purer the water, the larger the Orbeez® will grow. This is because the ionic / mineral content of the water affects the size. Make sure you are using clean, distilled water, when growing your Orbeez as they can grow to a maximum diameter of 14mm.

Q: How do I store my Orbeez® once I am done playing with them?

A: You can store your Orbeez® in a closed container out of sunlight to keep your Orbeez fresh and ready to play for next time.

Q: Can we use Orbeez® to hydrate flowers?

A: Yes, Orbeez give off small amounts of water and can be used in place of water to hydrate flowers. We recommend placing a small amount of water in the bottom of the vase in addition to your Orbeez. 

Q: Do all of the Orbeez® products include Orbeez beads?

A: All of our Orbeez® products either include full grown Orbeez or Orbeez seeds that you can grow into fully hydrated Orbeez. We also have Orbeez refill packs available for purchase if you want more Orbeez to play with.
